He has since hosted several notable performances for NBC, including New Year's Eve with Carson Daly from Times Square. He is now the co-host of the Today show on NBC. He has been suffering from chronic lower back pain for many years but has not gotten it checked yet.

In June 2022, he shared that he had not gotten his back checked in an MRI because he has generalised anxiety, and that made him wary of MRI machines. He finally found a procedure where he could stand up, and it wouldn't be as claustrophobic. He has had years of back pain caused by a snowmobile incident in 1997. He found a solution that would help him.
