Larry Clanton Obituary, Death – Larry Joe Clanton, who resided in Tchula, Mississippi, and was 77 years old at the time of his passing on September 11, 2022, passed away in his home. He was surrounded by his friends and family at the time of his passing. It was his parents, Russell Alvin Clanton and Fannie Odel Weeks Clanton, who were his parents, and he was their son.

On June 27th, 1945, Larry was born in Schalter, Mississippi. He was of Mississippian descent. He was a farmer and a Baptist, both of which were matters of faith for him. To add insult to injury, he had previously been a member of the Mississippi National Guard at one point in his life. In 1964, Larry relocated to the Tchula region and started working for James “Bubba” Cunningham, who had sadly gone away by that point. Larry finally found himself in a situation where he could farm and breed cattle on his own due to the fact that he had spent a number of years working under Bubba’s leadership. In addition to being a deer hunter who was extremely enthusiastic about the sport, Larry was a member of the Rockport Conservation League and enjoyed spending time with them.

Among those who are able to carry on his legacy are his wife of 43 years, Sylvia McClain Clanton, his son Jerry “Skip” Wilson (Missy) of Oxford, Mississippi, his brother Charles Clanton (Karen) of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and his grandchildren Sadie Wilson of Nashville, Tennessee, and Lucy Wilson of Oxford, Mississippi. His legacy will be carried on by his family. A significant number of his family, nephews, and friends are also included in the group of people who will miss him profoundly. Furthermore, Larry’s brothers Russell and Jimmy Dale Clanton had already passed away before to his own passing, in addition to his parents.
