BIOGRAPHY
A leading global ambassador of Latin Rock for two decades, Colombian singer, songwriter and musician Juanes won over fans around the world with a distinctive style built on a solid foundation of intelligently crafted songs, a deep passion for rock music and the same reverence for the traditional folklore and indigenous rhythms of his native Colombia and Latin America. Music was always his main hobby and at the age of 15, he began his career in a metal band, called Ekhymosis, with which he published six albums, achieving good recognition in the rock scene of his country. In 1999, Juanes decided to go solo and the following year he debuted with the album Fíjate bien, achieving good reviews from specialized critics. Since then, he has won 23 Latin Grammy Awards, the highest record achieved by a Colombian singer, and has sold more than 16 million albums worldwide.
